Italian Defense Minister Guido Crocetto said that Italy would send naval forces to protect Cyprus, along with Spain, France and the Netherlands.
Crosetto stated that the deployment will be carried out in the coming days, N1 reports.
French President Emmanuel Macron's office said he had spoken with Italian and Greek leaders and that they had agreed to send military forces to Cyprus.
Earlier today, sirens sounded for about ten minutes on the Mediterranean island.
