New explosions can be heard in Tehran, as well as in numerous Gulf states, as the war between Israel and the United States against Iran continues for the second day.

Last night, it was confirmed that Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other military officials had been killed, but American and Israeli leaders announced that they would continue with the strikes.

The latest photos and videos show thick smoke after an explosion in Tehran where the Americans and Israelis carried out new strikes on what they say are military targets.

US President Donald Trump said the aim of the new strikes was to ensure that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons, curb its missile programme and eliminate threats to the United States and its allies.

During the day, numerous Iranian missiles hit cities in Israel, tankers in the Strait of Horus, and the latest photos and footage also show explosions at the American base in Erbil, Iraq.

The Iraqi pro-Iranian group Saraya Awliya Al Dam said on Sunday it had carried out attacks on a US base near Iraq's Erbil airport. Large explosions could be heard and orange flashes lit up the night sky.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced earlier that they had hit three American and British oil tankers in the Gulf, and reports suggest that hundreds of vessels are waiting outside the Strait of Hormuz after Iranian warnings that no one should pass.

In addition, explosions and warnings of danger can be heard across Israel, and nine civilians have been killed in one Israeli town, according to Israeli media. The Americans also confirmed that three of their soldiers were killed.

On the other hand, the Iranians state that more than 160 people were killed in the attack on a girls' school in Iran alone.
