"Rest in peace, Dule. Your uniqueness will leave a huge void in basketball. Your players, all your sports friends will never forget you. Thank you, coach," wrote former Partizan player and Serbia coach Aleksandar Đorđević on X.
Former Partizan captain Jofre Lauvergne said that Vujošević had the greatest influence on his development.
"Outside the family circle, without a doubt the person who has had the greatest influence on my development. You shaped me, believed in me and helped me become the player I am today, but more importantly – the man I have become. I will forever be grateful for everything you have given me. Rest in peace, General. I will never forget you," Lauvergne wrote.
The football club also issued a statement, stating that it was with great pain and sadness that it received the news of the legendary coach's untimely departure.
"We knew that his health was deteriorating and we hoped that he would succeed in winning the most important battle of his life, as he had succeeded many times on the field while leading his Partizan. Unfortunately, he did not succeed in that," FK Partizan stated.
Bayern Munich coach and one of Vujošević's big rivals, Svetislav Pešić, said that besides the trophies, Dušek's great achievement was the development of young players.
"Today, they only look at results, and they only declare who is the best by titles. He did win with his teams, of course, but his greatest achievement was the players he discovered and created," Pešić told Sport klub.
"He didn't give up on the Yugoslav training method, he was authentic and believed in what he was doing, there was no compromise with him. I always supported him in that aspect. He is one of the few who continued that famous Yugoslav school of basketball. I give him great credit," he added.
Vladimir Štimac, Saša Pavlović, the Partizan handball and volleyball clubs, the Panathinaikos and Bayern Munich basketball clubs, CSKA Moscow, etc. also said goodbye to Vujošević on social media.
Brazil coach Aco Petrović said that Duško was not only a coach, but also a teacher.
"Not only a top coach, but a teacher, an intellectual and above all a man has left us. Dule Vujošević," wrote Petrović.
