"The action initiated by the Parents' Council of this school brought together students and parents with the aim of showing respect and gratitude to the workers in the school's neighborhood - from saleswomen in supermarkets, to workers in newsagents, to employees in local bookstores and other retail outlets in the immediate vicinity of the school," the statement said.
The cards, with the help of parent volunteers, were carefully packaged and delivered on March 9th as a sign of appreciation for the women who contribute to the school community every day with their work.
"This symbolic gesture is just the beginning of planned activities, and our goal is to introduce new initiatives that will improve the atmosphere and cooperation in the school community," said Radovan Gligorović, the school principal.
The "Maksim Gorki" Elementary School believes that joint actions will contribute to the renewal and strengthening of ties between all members of the school community - students, parents, teachers and the local community, and that togetherness and cooperation are the foundation for progress and a better environment for all.
Accordingly, the school announced a new HOUSE RULES, which will normalize decency as an elementary prerequisite for the public school institution of the "Maksim Gorki" Elementary School. Parents are asked to continue to wholeheartedly support school initiatives for the benefit of everyone, especially their children.
