"Today we are sending a clear message that the focus of the Government of Montenegro and the relevant ministries is precisely on balanced regional development and that for this very reason, when building new and reconstructing existing facilities, we are taking care to represent the northern, central and southern regions, as well as urban and rural areas. When it comes to this specific project, Andrijevica has been waiting for its implementation for decades, so today we are all really looking forward to the start of works worth around 4 million euros and the creation of adequate conditions for practicing sports and implementing physical education classes," said Jakšić-Stojanović.

Majda Adžović, Minister of Public Works, specified the dynamics of the works and emphasized the importance of meeting deadlines in such complex construction projects.

"This is an investment in the future of our children and the development of sports in Andrijevica. Today we have 408 students as the reason for the construction of this facility, and we hope that there will be even more in the future. The new project solution envisages the construction of a modern and multifunctional gymnasium with a total gross area of 1,623.03 m², which will provide students with quality conditions for physical education classes, but also for numerous sports and recreational activities," said Minister Adžović.

Željko Ćulafić, President of the Municipality of Andrijevica, said:

"Today we are laying the cornerstone for the sports hall in Andrijevica - a facility that represents much more than just a building. This is the foundation for a healthier upbringing for our children, for the development of sports and for strengthening unity in our city."

The construction of the hall will include state-of-the-art equipment, stands for spectators, supporting rooms and locker rooms, with full implementation of energy efficiency standards. It is expected that the new hall will become the center of sports events in Andrijevica, encouraging young people to have a more active lifestyle and creating conditions for the development of new sports talents.

The event was also attended by Andrijana Andjic, director of the Andrijevica Secondary Mixed School, who pointed out:

"Today we turn a new page in the history of our school, because our students are finally getting the conditions they deserve and the kind of conditions that generations before them only dreamed of. We can't wait for the day when the first whistle and children's roar will break through this hall, because this is significant for all of us in Andrijevica."

On behalf of the Elementary School "Bajo Jojić", the attendees were addressed by Mr. Bozidar Vukicevic, the school principal who emphasized:

"Some important things in our society have been waiting for a long time to be realized, and today they are being realized because the right people are in the right places. We are pleased that our school is part of the great investment wave in education, the most significant since the establishment of institutionalized education in Montenegro," concluded Vukićević.

"The laying of the foundation stone is part of a broader investment cycle of the Government of Montenegro, aimed at modernizing educational infrastructure across the country during 2026," the MoE concludes in a statement.
