The Ministry of European Affairs, in cooperation with the non-governmental organization "Center for Women's Rights", is organizing the Panel "Fighting Femicide: Legal Framework and Practice of EU Countries".

The panel will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the European House in Podgorica.

The panel will speak:

•        Maida Gorcevic, Minister of European Affairs

•        Bojan Bozovic, Minister of Justice

•        Jelenka Andric, President of the Committee for Gender Equality in the Parliament of Montenegro

•        Andreina Marsella, Ambassador of Italy to Montenegro

•        Maja Raicevic, executive director of the Women's Rights Center, who will also be the moderator of the event

The event will be dedicated to the legislative framework for the protection of women from gender-based violence, with a special focus on the introduction of femicide as a separate criminal offense in the legal system of Montenegro. The aim of the event is to open issues of improving the normative framework and more efficient mechanisms for the protection of women from gender-based violence through institutional and expert dialogue.

The panel is being implemented within the EU4ME Project, funded by the European Union.
