For the first time in history, three Italians will play in the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament.

Although Janiko Siner and Lorenzo Musetti are not among them, the "Azure" managed to write the most beautiful page in their country's history at this year's Roland Garros.

Matteo Arnaldi, Matteo Berettini and Flavio Coboli made it to the top eight.

What is certain is that one of the three will surely advance to the semifinals, as compatriots and namesakes Beretina and Arnaldi will cross racquets in the quarterfinals.

Also, of the eight quarter-finalists, half are making their first appearance on the biggest stage at this stage of the tournament, three are under 21 years old, and two are outside the TOP 100.

In addition, Arnaldi, with an unbelievable turnaround and five-set triumph against Frances Thiago, became the tennis player with the most time spent on court on his way to a Grand Slam quarterfinal – 17 hours and 31 minutes.

He thus broke the record of the legendary Niklas Kulti, who also reached the quarterfinals at the 1992 World Championships in a total time of 15 hours and 44 minutes.

We will find out in the coming days what else awaits us at this year's, to say the least, strange Roland Garros.
