Public transport in Podgorica could be separated from the company "Putevi", after a period of stable and positive business. The management states that the conditions for this step have been met, with plans for further development and harmonization with European standards, the company's executive director, Radoš Zečević, told Dnevnik.

Public transport in Podgorica, which operates within the Putevi company, could be singled out, as emphasized, thanks to positive business performance and compliance with European standards.

"I think it won't be until 2027, so we'll see if the new city administration makes a decision about it, this one certainly won't. I think it's okay for it to be until 2027 and there's a real potential for it to be separated," said Radoš Zečević from GP Putevi.

He adds that Putevi has made significant progress in terms of functionality and personnel.

"There are good and bad sides, but the company has already grown in terms of functionality and numbers, and we can say that it is a medium-sized company in regular transport, and that the prerequisites have been met to separate it, but by 2027, the new government will decide what to do," Zečević points out.

Zečević also reminds us of significant, implemented projects - during the past year, about 100 kilometers of roads were reconstructed in urban, suburban and rural areas of Podgorica.

„Plan je da i ove godine za desetak kilometara da prebacimo. Imamo ozbiljniji budžet. Radićemo i za treća lica, sad za Zetu. Imamo baš ozbiljan plan a to je što i inače radimo, gdje je najvažnija gradska zona i u ljetnim mjesecim radimo i seoska područja“, kazao je Zečević.

Modern public transport must keep up with the growth of the population and the development of the Capital City, said Zečević.
