OK Budva was fined 500 euros for unsportsmanlike conduct by player Balša Radunović during a match played on April 18. In addition, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against the Budva captain, and an additional decision on his possible suspension is expected.
The club from Budva was also fined an additional 200 euros for organizational failures, namely inadequate security at the match, which, according to the Federation, contributed to the incident.
Officials were not spared the sanctions either. Referee from Bar Predrag Beljkaš was suspended for two rounds of the championship for misconduct, as he failed to react adequately in a controversial situation during the match.
As a reminder, the incident occurred at the end of the first set, when Radunović left the court during a point and headed towards the stands, where he made physical contact with a spectator. Despite this, the match continued without any sanctions at that point.
Radunović has since publicly apologized, stating that his reaction was an attempt to calm the situation after an unknown person entered a restricted area and caused tension, but he admitted that his actions were not appropriate for a professional athlete.
It is expected that the final decision in the disciplinary proceedings against Radunović will shed additional light on the entire case.
