The most trophy-winning European club led three times, but ultimately fell short in the final with a player less.
"It hurts a lot... a lot, especially because of the way it all happened. I congratulate Bayern on a great game, but we would have liked them to have beaten us in a different way. The red card is incomprehensible, no one understands it. That's why there is a feeling of injustice and anger - all the hard work went down the drain because of such a decision by the referee," said Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
Eduardo Kamavinga received two yellow cards in ten minutes, the second for time wasting.
"Nobody understands why a player was sent off for such a move. The action was already over, the decision is unfair and it hurts us a lot. It's something you can't influence. I think he only showed him a card after the Bayern player reacted. But it wasn't even a yellow card. If he didn't know he already had one, then it's an even bigger mistake. I'm proud of the players and the fans, but it hurts that we won't get to our 16th title this year," says Arbeloa.
Arda Guler scored two nice goals, and Kylian Mbappe also scored.
"I fielded a team that I believed could win. We came to attack and score goals. We had a lot of chances and it's a shame we didn't take advantage of them."

"I'll repeat once again: I'm not worried at all. I'm a club man and I'll accept any decision. All I want is for Real Madrid to keep winning," concluded the Spanish expert.
