The Blaugrana lost to Atletico Madrid in the two-legged tie with a 3-2 aggregate score. Atletico won the first leg in Catalonia 2-0, but Lamin Jamal and company responded in Madrid 2-1.
Barça overcame the deficit from the first match in just 25 minutes at the Metropolitano with goals from Jamal and Ferran Torres, but Ademola Lukman set the final outcome.
"We are disappointed. We had many chances, especially to go 3-0 up, but we conceded that goal. We are very disappointed. We played a great game, we were good even with a player less. We were unlucky and we have to accept that," said Flik.
Barcelona played with ten men for almost an hour in two matches.
"If you look at the game between the two teams in this doubleheader, you would say that we deserve to make it to the semi-finals, but the reality is different," Flick is aware.
The Catalans are turning to La Liga where they are very close to the championship title.
"We still have La Liga. We still have the fight for the Spanish championship. I don't know when we'll win the trophy, but I know I want to do it as soon as possible. We have to recover from this as soon as possible and focus on the remaining matches, because we have a lot of work ahead of us," the German concluded.
