This year's championship brought together eight competitors, who competed in seven rounds according to the Berger system, at the standard pace of play.
First place with 6.5 points went to Mateja Popović, a member of Budućnost from Podgorica. After winning titles in all categories at the cadet championships, as well as several youth titles, Popović won her first title in the senior competition with excellent play. She achieved the winning medal with six wins and one draw, in a duel with Kira Popova in the last, seventh round.
Popova finished the tournament in second place with 6 points won, and in addition to the winner, she also drew with the young Dušica Petrušić, while winning five games. Fourteen-year-old Popova, a member of the Ladies of Budva, did not manage to defend the winning trophy, but continued with great games.
The bronze medal went to Katarina Đukić, who won 4.5 points, completing the success of the chess players from Buducnost.
It is worth highlighting the good performance of the young pioneer Dušica Petrušić, who took an excellent fourth place with 4 points, but her lack of experience prevented her from achieving an even better result.
Fifth place went to Sofija Milović, sixth to Nađa Zloković, seventh to Marija Bajić, and eighth to Jovana Aćimić.
The prize fund was 3,000 euros, and Zoran Peruničić served as the judge.
The awards were presented to the best by the President of the Chess Federation of Montenegro, Jovan Milović.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was an excellent host of the competition, and the tournament was opened by Dr. Radoje Vujadinović, Dean.
