The KIC's music program in April will traditionally be marked by the "Jazz Appreciation Month" event./Jazz Appreciation Month in Montenegro”, which will include a rich and carefully conceived program. The audience can expect concerts by renowned international and regional performers, including Ariel Bart Trio (April 2), Baki Duyarlar Trio (April 14), The Tribevibers (April 15), Srđan Ivanović Blazin' Quartet (April 16), Maja Rivić Quintet (April 21) and Lucas Dorado Quintet (April 29). Through their original projects and current discographic releases, these ensembles will present diverse poetics and aesthetic directions of contemporary jazz, ranging from classic jazz forms to ethno, fusion, Latin and other genres, according to KIC.
Two significant film adaptations based on famous literary works will be shown by the KIC film program as part of the “World Literature on Film” XIII review. On April 7, the audience will be able to watch the screen adaptation of the cult novel “Wuthering Heights” (2026), and on April 30, the film “Hamnet” (2025). The April film repertoire will also include screenings of animated films, so the dynamic synchronized animated adventure “Pets on a Train” (2025), full of humor and unexpected plots, will be shown on April 4. Two weeks later, on April 18, the youngest film fans will have the opportunity to watch the sequel to the animated synchronized story “Finik’s Adventures 2” (2025).
The KIC literary program on April 9th presents the play "Mrs. Josip" by Ana Janković, and on April 22nd the novel "Lovište samoće" by Dragana Tripković.
We also announce that the KIC will host the play "The Godfathers" by the Nikšić Theater, based on a text by Dušan Kovačević and directed by Božidar Đurović, as well as the play "How Taboo Seeked Freedom" by the Zagreb Theater for the Blind and Visually Impaired "Novi život". The first regional comedy festival ZEFFEST will be held from April 23 to 27.
The "Podgorica Stories" panel, which the audience enjoys visiting and following month after month, will host actor Sejf Seferović on April 28. The book "Around the World" by travel writer Edin Krnić will be promoted on April 30.
As part of the "Jazz on Film" review, on April 8, the award-winning documentary "Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat" (2024) will be screened, which explores the relationship between politics, jazz, and colonial history through archival footage.
Through an exhibition titled "Photographs of Our Togetherness" which will open April 6, paintings by Dubravka Duda Duletić and photographs by Besim Hadrović Belig and Dejan Feratović will be presented.
