"When I took over the transport ministry in July 2024, our country's air accessibility was at an unsatisfactory level, and solving that problem was one of my primary goals," Vukićević stated.
She pointed out that, thanks to the exceptional cooperation that the Ministry of Transport achieved with the management of the Airport of Montenegro, primarily with the Board of Directors headed by Jelena Maraš and Executive Director Roko Tolić, they managed to sign an agreement with Wizz Air in 2025 and contract new routes.
The good cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and the Airports of Montenegro, as she recalled, resulted in record traffic of more than three million passengers at Montenegrin airports in 2025, for the first time in the history of their existence.
"It is clear that, thanks to the lines we contracted during 2025 and early 2026, which were recently announced, this year's results will be even more impressive," Vukićević assessed.
According to her, better air accessibility is of crucial importance for tourism, but also for the citizens of Montenegro, who now have access to numerous destinations directly from domestic airports.
