Sabalenka eliminated Elena Rybakina in the semifinals without any major problems (6:4, 6:3), while Goff outclassed Karolina Muchova (6:1, 6:1).
The Belarusian is defending her title in Florida, and she didn't drop a single set until the final. Before Rybakina, she beat An Li, Katie McNally, Qinwen Zhang and Haley Baptist.
On the other hand, Goff had to play her four matches before the semifinals in three sets – against Elizabeta Koćareto, Ališa Parks, Sorana Kirstea and Belinda Benčić.
This will be their 13th meeting, and the score is currently tied at 6:6. Their last meeting on hard court was in November 2024 at the final tournament in Riyadh, when Goff triumphed in straight sets.
Sabalenka is chasing her 24th WTA title, her third of the season, while Goff is chasing her 11th title – her first this season and her first in Miami.
