More than 250 swimmers and 11 records at the Montenegro Open

The first-ever international swimming meeting, Montenegro Open 2026, in a 25-meter pool, was successfully completed last weekend, with the participation of 15 clubs from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and North Macedonia and more than 250 competitors, who competed in 10 individual disciplines and two relays.

The competition took place in a high-quality and extremely competitive atmosphere, and top results were achieved. Amina Kajtaz from the Orka Mostar Swimming Club, who was declared the best swimmer of the competition with 1,400 AQUA points won in two disciplines.

Second place in the women's competition was won by our Jovana Kuljaca with 1,349 points, while third place went to our swimmer Jani Borovic with 1,214 points. Both competitors come from Budva.

The men's competition was dominated by swimmers from Montenegro. The most successful was Milos Milenkovic with 1,394 points won. Second place went to Timofey Strelchinin with 1,214 points from Budva, while third was Daniel Adroć from Jadran M:tel with 1,183 points.

A total of 11 state records were broken during the competition, five of which were in relay events (Budva 3 and Aqvatic Verde 2), while six individual state records were also set.

Kuljača (Budva) broke the absolute records of Montenegro in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events, while Milenković (Budva) set the absolute record in the 50 meter backstroke event.

Uros Simovic (Aqvatic Verde) set new cadet records in the 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter breaststroke, while Veljko Vucinic (Future One) set a pioneering record in the 100-meter butterfly event.

As part of the event, a practical part of the seminar for swimming referees was held, organized by the VPSCG, which made a significant contribution to the improvement and strengthening of professional staff in swimming.

The organizers expressed their satisfaction with the large turnout of clubs and competitors, as well as the results achieved, with the belief that this meeting will grow into a traditional and significant regional competition.
