The President of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Danijel Živković, paid a working visit to Žabljak, where he met with numerous citizens, members and local officials, with whom he discussed the current political situation in that city and country.

On that occasion, President Živković said that the situation in Žabljak exposed the essence – that there is no political or ideological difference between PES, Democrats and the coalition For the Future of Montenegro, and that this is confirmed by the fact that representatives of these policies, including the Durmitor Initiative, in this town, through open violation of the law, tried to desecrate the state symbols of Montenegro.
“Montenegro today is governed by those who did not want an independent Montenegro, who have other countries as their home countries, who have other capitals closer to Podgorica. After 6 years, it is more than clear that they do not have good intentions towards the state and state interests and that they use every opportunity to trample on the dignity of Montenegro and degrade its symbols. For six years now, Montenegro has been failing at all levels. They are destroying the system – from security to healthcare. They have been announcing Montenegro as a large construction site, but there are no projects – neither in Žabljak nor in other cities in Montenegro. Development has stopped, and Žabljak is paying the price today through poor tourist seasons, because tourists expect, year after year, better and higher quality content, which, thanks to the lack of vision, ignorance and incompetence of those in power, they cannot get here. But they are capable and known to destroy the system through party-family employment. That is why we must stop the destruction of prospects both here in Žabljak and at the state level. We must send them to
"an opposition from which they will not be able to ruin the local self-government systems and the state system, because the seats they occupied were good for them only, not for this city and its citizens," he said.

In conclusion, Živković underlined that Žabljak deserves a government with a vision, which will bring in investors, whom the post-August 30 liberators drove away with their bizarre policies, because this city needs projects that will change it for the better, which will strengthen its image as a tourist center, but also strengthen the local economy. The working visit to Žabljak is part of the regular activities that the Democratic Party of Socialists carries out with the aim of establishing direct contact with its membership and citizens.
