According to the Police Directorate, police officers previously implemented measures and actions aimed at suppressing the illegal possession of weapons, based on which, upon an initiated and obtained order from the competent court, they searched the apartment and other premises used by the VA.
During the search, weapons and ammunition were found in illegal possession, as follows:
– rifle of the brand “ARMS M48”;
– rifle of unknown brand and caliber;
– a “Browing” brand pistol and
– 46 pieces of ammunition of various brands and calibers.
It is emphasized that the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Berane was informed about the event and, after an expert examination of the seized weapons and ammunition at the Forensic Center, stated that the VA's actions constitute essential elements of the criminal offense of illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.
"Police officers will continue with intensive controls and operational activities in the coming period with the aim of detecting and suppressing illegal possession of weapons," the Police Directorate concluded.
