Montenegro will be competing at the Games for the first time, and Montenegrin parasport will be represented by snowboarder Andrej Šibalić.
The 14th Games will feature 665 athletes from 56 countries around the world, competing in six sports, or 79 disciplines.
They will compete for medals in para-alpine skiing, para-biathlon, para-cross skiing, para-ice hockey, para-snowboarding and wheelchair curling.
Šibalić will compete in the banked slalom discipline, in the LL2 category, which is scheduled for March 14th.
The Games will mark the 50th anniversary of the first Paralympic Winter Games, and will return to Italy for the second time in history, 20 years after Turin 2006.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
The closing ceremony is scheduled for March 15 at the renovated Olympic Curling Stadium in Cortina, the former venue of the 1956 Winter Olympics.
