In January, the Montenegrin U18 national team players, players born in 2009 and younger, are expected to compete in the first round of zonal qualifications for the 2026 European Championship, which will take place in Podgorica. At the tournament, from which the winner goes directly to the European Championship in Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania and Kosovo are in the group with Montenegro, and Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece will play in Group B.
Nikola Mijuskovic grew up playing volleyball in his native Nikšić, and now, in addition to sports psychology, he also works in OK Sutjeska, in the position of coach in the volleyball school.
During his professional career in the field of sports psychology, he collaborated with the senior water polo team of Montenegro. In the then coach's team Vladimir Gojković he spent the entire Olympic cycle, and with the national team he was at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris 2024, at three World Championships and two European Championships in the period from 2022 to 2024.
In addition to his rich experience in working with Montenegrin water polo players, he also played the role of a sports psychologist in the basketball club Podgorica in the 2020/21 season.
Mijušković completed his basic and specialist studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, where he received his master's degree in sports psychology in 2012, since when he started working in this field. He is the author of two books in the field of sports psychology - Millimeter for hundredths of a millimeter and Algorithm of victory.
His engagement in working with talented Montenegrin volleyball players is of great importance for their development and progress, both in terms of individual careers and in the field of team progress, and the new step of the Volleyball Association of Montenegro in creating the best possible conditions for all national team players.
