Legalization of illegal buildings in Podgorica is a necessary process, but not according to the proposed model, Democrats told TV Podgorica. They state that even the current prices do not motivate citizens - which is why, as they say, they will not vote for the proposed decision to increase them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"When it comes to the current procedure and submitted requests for legalization - some 20 percent of owners of illegal facilities - out of 50 thousand of them in the territory of the Capital City - have applied for legalization,\" said the Democratic councilor. Mitar Paunovic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Paunovi\u0107 points out that there are as many as 5 illegal settlements in Podgorica built on state land. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \"Near the city center, the estimated price of a square meter of land even reaches 300 euros, so let's keep in mind that someone may have built 500 square meters and that is calculated at current market prices - which tells us how much compensation these citizens are paying to the state we are talking about,\" said Paunovi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Movement for Podgorica also agrees that the price increase will reduce the interest of owners of illegal buildings in legalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"We already have information from the city administration that it is at a very low level - only about 6 thousand requests and what is perhaps more difficult for our society is that after the car photo recording has been completed, we still have illegal construction. As for the price increase, we have stated that we will be against the imposition of citizens coming from the state level,\" said the councilor of the Movement for Podgorica Milos Krstovic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PES believes that the final version of the decision on legalization, which will enter the parliamentary procedure, will be the result of respected suggestions and proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"Legalization is an ultimate goal that must happen and that all illegal facilities are legalized, in what way and in what amount will best be determined when drafting the final decision, taking into account all suggestions from the public hearing,\" emphasized the PES councilor.
