At the concert, he will perform repertoire from his debut double album \"Drugo sunce\" (published by Menart, Zagreb 2025), highly praised by music critics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her original singing style is characterized by the use of extended vocal techniques, which allows her to effortlessly move through a range of genres, from jazz, experimental and improvised, to traditional and world music. As a multimedia author, she sees the voice as a tool of great potential that creates a space of freedom, empathy and understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Educated at prestigious institutions in Zagreb and London, she has collaborated with numerous Croatian and London musicians, performing as a member of various ensembles at major jazz and contemporary music festivals, in prestigious concert halls. She is the recognizable voice of the brilliant Mimika Orchestra, of which she is a co-founder (she performed at JAM 2022), and of various other Zagreb ensembles, including the improvisational quartet MILK, Maja's Jazz Enthusiasm, the ensemble for improvised and experimental music and performance OAZA, the CRI orchestra, and the \u017diva voda collective. She has had fruitful collaborations with Darko Rundek and the HRT Jazz Orchestra, with whom she has recorded two albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The album \"Drugo Sunce\" is the result of Maja's collaboration with some of the most prominent Croatian jazz musicians. In addition to vocalist and composer Maja Rivi\u0107, the quintet consists of Mak Murti\u0107 on tenor saxophone, pianist Hrvoje Galer, double bassist Hrvoje Kralj and Borko Rupena on percussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
