Around 20,000 flight attendants and stewards stopped work today at the call of the UFO cabin crew union, with the aim of exerting pressure in the dispute over the collective agreement at the parent company and its regional subsidiary Lufthansa City Line, Nezavisne novine reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the flight schedule, around 75 percent of almost 350 scheduled departures have been canceled at the company's main hub at Frankfurt am Main airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The strike also affects operations at airports in Munich, Berlin, Leipzig and Stuttgart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the strike is officially aimed at departures from Germany, a number of return flights for passengers returning from Easter trips are also expected to be affected due to the lack of aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company advised passengers to check the status of their flights and stated that it was possible to change their reservation or receive a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Passengers are also entitled to compensation in the event of a delay of more than three hours, as well as alternative transportation, meals and accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is the third major strike at Germany's largest airline this year, following two previous pilot strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
