As they state, although EPCG is trying to impose a manipulative narrative about the alleged cost to citizens, the data it has published confirms that the purchase of electricity from renewable sources has brought multi-million-dollar savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This, they point out, is also indicated by official data from the Ministry of Capital Investments from 2022, according to which EPCG, thanks to the purchase of energy from renewable sources, achieved savings of 73 million euros in the first ten months. This, they add, means that this energy was purchased at significantly lower prices than market prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"So, the fact is that renewable sources were not a problem, but one of the key shock absorbers of the energy crisis. Therefore, EPCG is obliged to answer citizens at what price it would purchase electricity today if there were no production from renewable sources,\" said the DPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They add that, if EPCG claims that energy is not purchased for export but for system stability, it must clearly state how much, as they say, such stability would cost citizens if energy were purchased on the stock exchange at many times higher prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Also, they owe the citizens an answer to the questions: where did the energy that is no longer being supplied to the Podgorica Aluminum Plant disappear, for which EPCG previously claimed that it would bring in around 100 million euros in pure profit, where are those revenues, where is that profit that they publicly spoke about?\", they add.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DPS says that EPCG has not provided answers to questions about why it does not launch an initiative to amend the Regulation and abolish incentives when the market price is higher than the guaranteed one, assessing that this is a political statement, which, as they claim, is backed by those whose ignorance and incompetence, according to them, negatively affect the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"Finally, it is more than clear why EPCG is so blatantly silent on all these issues - because if they admit today that energy from renewable sources was cheaper than the market price, then it is clear that their political attacks and attempts to shift responsibility to others are nothing more than an attempt to divert attention from poor management and catastrophic results in the energy sector,\" the statement concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
