On the other hand, we are aware that we are working with limited infrastructure capacities, that passenger comfort will be secondary, but safety and security will continue to be at the highest international standards, as before. I am sure that our employees, as seasoned professionals, will withstand this traffic and the challenging season ahead of us,\" said Toli\u0107, adding that Podgorica Airport is ready to operate almost 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \"For now, the last landing is announced at 1.05, which practically means that our employees will be at their workplaces until two in the morning, because colleagues must remain at their positions as long as at least one passenger is in the terminal, and the first takeoff is at 6, which means that our employees must be at their workplaces from 3.45 - fifteen minutes before the registration counter opens,\" explained Toli\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The opening of the base, as Wizz Air says, will bring significant benefits to the local economy. The development will create around 80 direct jobs at Wizz Air and support approximately 700 additional jobs indirectly in tourism, aviation and local services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wizz Air has been continuously expanding its presence in Montenegro since the launch of its first flight between Podgorica and Milan Bergamo in 2016, carrying almost two million passengers to and from the country. Today, the company offers 24 routes from Podgorica to 12 countries, and with the opening of the base, Wizz Air will become the number one airline at Podgorica Airport and the largest carrier in Montenegro as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This expansion comes as Wizz Air continues to grow across Europe. In 2025, the company added 42 new aircraft to its fleet, launched more than 320 new routes and carried 68.6 million passengers.
