"The long and arduous path of Montenegro's integration into the European Union. The Europe Movement, now as the only new Club in this parliament in this convocation, has the honor of revitalizing this process, and all of us, with such a resolution, should give each other the wind at our backs, give each other the refreshment, the necessary energy to bring this journey to an end," said Subotić.
At the end of this journey, as he pointed out, there is a great reward.
"What is most special is that all citizens will enjoy this award, and here politicians do not vote for politicians or businessmen for businessmen, this award belongs to everyone," said Subotić.
He added that this European reality and this award bring an economically strengthened Montenegro, a state of law and justice and that it brings, first of all, dignity to every citizen, worker, pensioner... I am sure that it brings many other things as well: better infrastructure, sports, culture, a healthier environment. In that sense, it brings to Montenegro something else that it has had several times in history. It brings it the opportunity to once again be the flagship of the region and to be a beacon for those who follow us.
"Thank you to all the Clubs that delegated members to the European Integration Committee and to all those who jointly signed this declaration. Our political differences will not disappear upon joining the EU, we will just deal with other problems, other topics in a different framework, but what we have shown with this resolution is that we will be ready to be part of one organism that will cross the finish line together and that will soon breathe European lungs. I hope that this will be the end of a painful transition spanning several decades and that it will be the end of pessimism and the beginning of optimism," concluded Subotić.
