"In continuation of the planned activities that the Police Directorate continuously implements with the aim of raising the level of traffic safety, as announced, during the previous three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) an intensified action of controlling traffic participants called "Interceptor" was implemented, which was carried out by officers of the Mobile Police Unit," the police said.
Seven vehicles for registering violations in the movement of so-called "interceptors" participated in the operation, through which activities 48 persons were deprived of their liberty, 107 misdemeanor reports were filed, 326 misdemeanor warrants were issued and six pairs of license plates were confiscated.
"The achieved results are additionally significant considering that during the campaign there were no fatalities in traffic accidents. The police continue with planned and continuous activities to improve traffic safety and sanction all forms of improper traffic behavior," the police said.
They appeal to drivers to respect traffic regulations, adapt their driving to road conditions, and to contribute to their own safety and the safety of other road users through responsible behavior.
