The summit brought together representatives of 42 countries and 26 tourism ministers, confirming its importance as one of the most important platforms for exchanging experiences and defining common priorities in global tourism policy.
Speaking about the role of investments, Kordić emphasized that Montenegro views investors as long-term partners in the development of the destination, and not just as a source of capital.
"In today's globally connected world, no destination can succeed in isolation. Connections and cooperation are the foundation of modern tourism, as they enable the exchange of knowledge, market stability and a joint response to global challenges. For us, investments in tourism are not mere capital, but a partnership between the state, investors and local communities, based on trust and common goals.", said Minister Kordić.
The Summit also highlighted the broader importance of tourism in the contemporary global context. UN Tourism Secretary-General Shaikha Al Nuwais said that tourism is a powerful instrument of peace and mutual understanding, emphasizing that without peace there is no tourism, but also that tourism can be a bridge that connects people, cultures and countries.
Kordić agreed with that message, emphasizing that it is through cooperation, openness, and responsible growth management that tourism can make a concrete contribution to stability, dialogue, and long-term development.
The UN Tourism Ministerial Summit was held on the eve of the opening of the 60th anniversary edition of ITB Berlin, which this year marks six decades of international cooperation and represents one of the most important global gatherings of the tourism sector.
